About the Opportunity

Torbay Lifestyles & Care is seeking a part-time Lifestyle and Leisure Assistant based in Hervey Bay, QLD.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older people. 

Your key responsibilities revolve around supporting the Lifestyle Coordinator in planning, organising, and implementing lifestyle programs that enhance the quality of life and the well-being of older people.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Activity Assistance: Implement a diverse range of lifestyle programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Resident Interaction: Engage with residents on a personal level, fostering positive relationships and promoting social interactions.
• Resident Assessment and documentation: Create and review Lifestyle Assessments to ensure needs-based programming is occurring and monitor attendance.

About You

To be successful you will be passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of older people,  supporting them to live life the way they choose.  

The following skills and background will be highly valued:

• Cert IV in Lifestyle and Leisure or willingness to complete
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to engage positively with a diverse range of individuals, including residents and their families

As our ideal candidate, you will possess the above skills to help promote and assist residents in participating in meaningful activities whilst maintaining friendly and supportive professional relationships.  You will also have experience and knowledge in aged care with a commitment to high standards of care.
