About the Opportunity

Torbay Lifestyles & Care is seeking casual, and part-time Registered Nurses based in Hervey Bay, QLD.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting and making a positive impact on the lives of older people. 

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care for older people in accordance with the care plan and cooperation with the older person and other members of the care team.   

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Clinical Care: Providing high-quality medical care, including assessing residents' health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.
• Wound Management: Managing and dressing wounds, preventing infections, and promoting proper wound healing. 
• Health Care Planning: Developing and implementing individualised care plans based on residents' specific needs and conditions. 
• Assessment and Documentation: Conducting thorough health assessments, maintaining accurate medical records, and documenting changes in residents' health conditions. 
• Pain Management:  Addressing pain concerns and implementing pain management strategies. 
• Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle medical emergencies and coordinating the response as necessary.
• End of Life Care: Providing comfort and support during end-of-life care, including palliative care.

About You

To be successful you will have experience in working within aged care and an understanding of the needs of residents residing in or transitioning to residential aged care.  

The following skills and background will be highly valued:

• Bachelor of Nursing qualification with current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Experience working in aged care
• Demonstrated competence in medication management, clinical skills, and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to engage positively with a diverse range of individuals, including residents and their families

In addition to the above skills, as an ideal candidate, you will demonstrate a high level of leadership for those around you providing conflict resolution, supervision, and striving for continuous improvement.
